A weekly conversation on culture and society, in a spontaneous, conversational register \u2014 closer to spoken everyday English than to written English.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #083763; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 16px;\"><strong style=\"color: #ff3364;\">Anything Goes<\/strong>, hosted by Emma Chamberlain. A solo format in which she reflects on her week and current thoughts in a very casual tone. Lots of informal expressions and spoken-word phrases \u2014 useful for getting used to English as it&#8217;s really spoken among friends.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #083763; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 16px;\"><strong style=\"color: #ff3364;\">On Purpose with Jay Shetty<\/strong>, hosted by Jay Shetty. Structured interviews centred on personal development and the search for meaning, with guests from a wide range of backgrounds. Clear, measured English \u2014 easier to follow than free-form conversation formats.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #083763; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 16px;\"><strong style=\"color: #ff3364;\">Unexplainable<\/strong>, produced by Vox. Each episode starts with a scientific mystery or an unanswered question, and explores how far current knowledge can take us. Clear, well-structured explanatory English, with two new episodes every week.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #083763; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong style=\"color: #ff3364;\">How to Be a Better Human<\/strong>, produced by TED. Short, practical episodes, each focused on a small behavioural change in everyday life, with an expert guest on the topic. Designed to be clear and accessible, in the spirit of TED talks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"color: #083763; margin-top: 8px; margin-bottom: 24px;\">Making progress without pressure: four simple habits<\/h2>\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom: 36px; padding-left: 20px;\">\n<li style=\"color: #083763; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 14px;\">Choose a book you actually want to keep reading, rather than one you&#8217;ve picked &#8216;to learn English&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #083763; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 14px;\">Don&#8217;t look up every word you don&#8217;t know.
